The Heavy Oil and Oilsands Guidebook and Directory series is a must-have for anyone with an interest in unconventional oil. Every year since 2006, JuneWarren has published this unique look at the heavy oil and oilsands industry in Canada, from the technologies that get the oil out of the ground to the stakeholders who live with development every day.
The first edition of the Heavy Oil and Oilsands Guidebook and Directory was a joint effort between JuneWarren Publishing and the Government of Alberta. This project won a 2007 Premier’s Award of Excellence for enhancing global awareness of this increasingly important industry.
While the Alberta Government continues to advise the development of the Heavy Oil and Oilsands Guidebook and Directory, JuneWarren has now taken on the project on its own. The publication is also strongly endorsed by the Canadian Heavy Oil Association (CHOA), Canada's industry association for the oilsands and heavy oil industries, with a membership of over 5,000. (For more information on the CHOA, please click here.)
The third edition of the Heavy Oil and Oilsands Guidebook and Directory is separated into seven sections: Community, Environment, Technology, Industry, People, Research, and Directory. Released in March 2008, the third edition builds and expands on what was covered in the second edition, introducing readers to new faces, voices, and technologies.
Through the dynamic union of the yearly Heavy Oil and Oilsands Guidebook and Directory, and the monthly publication Oilsands Review, JuneWarren Publishing provides a unique combination of timely and timeless unconventional oil coverage.
