INSTRUCTOR:
Frank Henderson
BIOGRAPHY:
Frank has over 35 years of experience across a broad spectrum of the energy industry. His oil and gas experience includes exploration, production, and marketing where he was previously employed by Amoco Canada, Drillwest Energy, and Chauvco Resources, prior to starting his own company. He is currently involved in the many new opportunities that have evolved from the restructuring of the natural gas industry, the growing importance of the oilsands, and the rapidly emerging unconventional natural gas sector. He is also actively monitoring issues affecting the restructuring of Alberta’s electric power industry and those of other Canadian provinces, as well as electric power restructuring issues in the United States and internationally.
During the last 18 years, Frank has instructed various energy-related subjects at public and in-house courses to hundreds of industry and non-industry representatives. He has also given several shorter topical presentations at breakfast and luncheon meetings. Some of his major topics have included natural gas, crude oil, crude bitumen, and unconventional gas. He has acquired a proven track record of being an excellent instructor with an innate ability to present complex material in simple terms and capture the attention of his audience with his articulate, lively, and interactive delivery.
TESTIMONIALS:
"The course was very informative with a ‘general’ outline of the oilpatch. Frank Henderson, our presenter, was very knowledgeable, thorough, clear, and concise. He knew the material very well and was able to present this to all levels of attendees. Oilpatch 101 was an excellent course – four of our staff participated. I hope there is a follow-up course later on."
Linda Veilleux, Office Manager
The Barlon Engineering Group Ltd.

"I benefited from this course in that it gave me a better understanding of everything that is involved within the oil and gas industry. I learned what oil is comprised of, how drilling rigs operate, the different uses for oil, gas pricing, how pipelines operate, and many other topics covered in the course. It was a great course and I am glad I signed up for it!"
Joseph, Business Analyst
TransCanada PipeLines Ltd.

"I would recommend Oilpatch 101 for anyone entering the oil and gas industry or those who are changing roles and would benefit from a broad understanding of how each sector is linked. The material was easy to follow and our facilitator, Frank, was extremely knowledgeable and able to offer insight into virtually any topic area. The two-day course covers everything from the discovery of oil to extraction technologies to the impact of future environmental requirements."
Donovan Volk, Portfolio Manager, Oil & Gas Solutions
CGI

"The Oilpatch 101 class was an excellent introduction to the oil and gas industry. Fairly new to the industry, I found the two-day class exceptionally educational in more areas than I imagined it would (i.e., history, science, math). Frank was a fountain of knowledge and I could have listened to him for an additional two days. You can tell he is very passionate about his topics and is just a brilliant man! After day two, I left with good background knowledge to assist me at my work with Baker Petrolite."
Michelle Robart, Technology Group Administrator

"I attended the Oilpatch 101 course in March after working in the Canadian oil and gas industry for three years. The course has given me a broader understanding on how the different aspects of the Canadian oil and gas industry relate to each other. I would recommend this to anyone, not just newcomers to the industry."
