JuneWarren Publishing - Canada's Oil & Gas Publisher

Oilweek Magazine

Established in 1948, Oilweek is Canada’s leading publication covering the oil and gas industry. Dubbed “the oil and gas authority,” readers trust Oilweek to deliver insight, analysis, and an in-depth understanding of issues and trends of importance to their business. With offices in both Calgary and Edmonton, Oilweek editors and reporters are tapped in to the communities that drive the business of energy in Canada.

Editorial Mandate

Oilweek provides high-quality, timely, and relevant editorial coverage of Canada’s upstream oil and gas sector. The magazine profiles the dynamic individuals and companies that work in this industry, both at home and to the furthest outposts of international exploration. Understanding that Canada’s future energy mix is comprised of more than just hydrocarbons, we’ve also expanded our coverage to include stories about the broader energy spectrum: from oil and gas to wind power to biofuels.

Editorial Coverage

In addition to monthly feature stories on topical issues affecting the oil and gas industry, Oilweek engages its readers through its departmental content:

  • Front Lines: An editorial perspective on current industry developments.
  • The Patch: We’ve redesigned the front of Oilweek by combining favourite elements you’ve come to expect in the magazine each month with new ones, all designed to bring you even more information in a format that’s easier to read, more engaging, and impossible to ignore. From news briefs, updates, and notable events to interesting tidbits about those making a difference in Canada’s energy industry, you’ll be surprised at what you discover. It’s a vibrant section that is anything but predictable.
  • Rewind: A showcase of historical events reported in Oilweek in decades past.
  • Profiles in the Patch: Meet the fascinating people of the Canadian energy industry.
  • Renewables and Alternative Energy: While oil and gas remain extremely important to Canada and the rest of North America, we also realize the growing importance of renewable and alternative energies. We’ve expanded our coverage to bring you more of these emerging stories each month.
  • Voices: Keeping you in the loop on what others have to say about oil and gas, in Canada, in North America, and around the world this section features both guest writers and a regular stable of commentators including:
    • David Yager: Industry executive and long-time Oilweek columnist sounding out on the business of oil and gas.
    • Leah Lawrence: Political enthusiast, commenting on how American politics and policy affect the Canadian industry.
    • Wes Reid: With his uniquely east coast view, opining on events shaping the offshore industry.
